Another sandstone image from Northern AZ, a real simple image.
Comments, critiques and suggestions are always welcome.

Looking at the thumbnail, I thought this was a abstract beach scene. Love the multi-hued layers and the tiny fissure in the middle.

Simple and fun. Can see this being a cool motion blur shot. Gotta love sandstone.

So many compositions with this. Initially thought it might have been an aerial beach scene. The wrinkle in the middle is an interesting touch. So much texture you were able to bring out in this. Might have cropped or slightly burned down the very top left bright area so it is not directly on the edge of the frame. Another beauty.

Harley, this is another great abstract. I really like how you chose to go with parallel horizontal lines here, rather than try to use diagonals. It creates a more unique look for this type of sandstone pattern image. I also like how you use restrained colors here, and avoided using too much saturation. Between the horizontal lines and soft colors, this image has a nice calm feeling to it. This would make a very nice print.

Yes, simple, but also very attractive, Harley. I especially like your comp. with the parallel lines in the stone and that little crack centered. That creates a strong sense of stability that fits the subject. The colors are terrific.

The details, textures and the combination of warm and cool colors really shine when opening up the large version, Harley. I have no suggestions. Great eye to pick this out.

Great color and wonderful detail, Harley. I really like the thin lines formed by the harder rock. The hints of blue and cyan work nicely against thr reds and yellows.

Superb abstract sandstone. Really nice texture and detail. Sandstone is really fun for abstract images. From what you've been posting lately, it appears that you found a real nice area with a lot of variety. I like all of them. It's been way too long since I spent any time in northern Arizona.

Colors and textures are great, but I prefer the dynamic comps of your other photos. This one seems static to me, though just as nicely seen.

Another wonderful sandstone intimate. Exquisite textures and beautiful subtle warm tones contrasted with a hint of cyan. Processing looks good. I could see burning down that very thin strip of brighter rock at the top.

Preston, I really like this image and it sure needs to be seen in the larger detailed version because that is impressive. The lines, textures, colors and detail are wonderful. Excellent!!

Oh. wow! I was surprised when I opened this. From the thumbnail I thought it was sunset light reflected on the ocean. I see that I'm not the only one who was fooled!
I like the color variation and textures. The horizontal lines work well for the composition.

I like the layers of color in the sand stone Harley. I also like the horizontal presentation.
