I liked the pose of the bird in this one and the curves of the grass it was carrying.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, hand held from boat, f/8, 1/4000, iso 1000, aperture priority, pattern metering, - 1 1/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to 7 MP.  Taken at Elkhorn Slough, California at 11:27 on March 9th.

Very nice image.  Like the behavior and action.  I could live with less room on top and more room left to right.

Good image of the Godwit doing something.  My previous post of the Cormorant was from Elkhorn Slough.  A great place for shorebirds.

That is a nice pose from the Godwit and the long grass piece definitely adds some interest Dennis.  You had nice light it looks like and I'm ok with your choice of crop.  Wonder what it was going to do with the grass.  Nesting material?  Nice shot!

I like the activity you caught in this photo.  Good detail and colors as well.  Also, like the BG, supports the bird well.  Thanks for sharing.

Godwits are among my favorite species around here in the winter, so it's interesting to see this behavior (gathering nesting materials?). Exposure looks pretty good. For composition more room to the right would be better, but at least I'd crop out a fair bit above. Thanks for the post.

I pretty much agree with you on the pose Dennis, but agree with Keith about the crop. I might like this even more as a 2x3 with more room on the right and less on top also.
