Purple Martin

Gallery: Man & FaunaPosted April 13, 2018163 views1 comments
The Purple Martins have been coming back to our gourd set-up the last week or so and we had some light the other day that actually showed why they're called purple.  Unfortunately, though I attached some nice decorative perches to the aluminum tubes supplied with the gourd pole, the males insisted on perching right on the point where I'd attached the two.  Thus the Man and Fauna category.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 468 mm, f/9, 1/1250, iso 800, aperture priority, pattern metering, +1 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped from a horizontal original to 6.6 MP.  Taken at 9:03 am on April 9th.

Your comments and critiques are always appreciated.

Thanks for taking a look,

I've never had a lot of luck getting the purple color to show like this.  Well done in spite of the perch problem.
