Love the lines, colors and textures of the rocks. Your choice of composition works very well. Will be traveling there this fall and would be thrilled with an image as good as this.

Thank you!
Patricia, go to Zabrisky Point, and look around the surrounding area. There is so more than the iconic composition. Also, go just up the road from there and take a right onto 20 Mule Team Canyon. Go in a ways and park. Get out and walk around. The opportunities are endless!

Really sweet, Chris. Love that area. I really like the strong golds and of course, the badlands. These areas soothe my soul.

Hi Chris,
This works beautifully. The colors you captured along with the lines and texture make this really interesting. It's sulfur or saffron or??? It's always hard to know where to cut off an image like this (abstracted from a larger landscape), and you found the perfect borders in my opinion. I like the brown wedge pushing us toward the center, the light on the ridgelines. Excellent eye and processing here.

Superb detail and color palette. As mentioned, I could gaze at this for a long time too. Very pristine and untouched..

Chris the mix of warm and cool colors make for a nice composition. The horizontal line movement with the slight diagonal across the frame create an interesting point of view. Great imagery!

Beautiful ridge lines and colors. Subdued lighting looks very nice highlighting the textures. Reminds me of the rhyolite mountains of Iceland. Maybe this winter I will get out there to check this area out. Looks a bit too hot out there for me right about now!

Very much like the mix of colors here. The cools and warms have create a very nice contrast in this abstract scene.

There are some wild colors here and they work well. I've shot this area numerous times and these colors have been enhanced. But here's the thing for me. Zabrieskie Point is such a flamboyant place that exaggerating that aspect actually captures the nature of the subject.
I particularly like the upper half of the image where the colors are more varied. There must be some good comps up there. I also like what the browns provide. The dominating yellows on the lower half are pretty dominant, however, making the color comp a bit unbalanced. That would be my only nit.

Thanks, Igor!
” These colors have been enhanced” Absolutely!
I have seen images with much heavier “enhancements” from here. I generally don’t move my saturation slider more then 10 points. And I sometimes optimize colors using selective color to my personal taste.
I never claimed to be, nor do I want to be a documentarian! :)

This is an awesome take on that location Chris. I love it. The folds in the land and the variety of colors is really quite something and this photograph has portrayed that in excellent fashion.
