Skimmer in the Marsh

Thought I'd add another DF to the others posted recently. A Needham's Skimmer from Jean Lafitte NP recently. It seemed to stand out fairly well within the busy BG of saw grass and such. Manually focused with slight crop.

Bill, I'm chuckling to myself because the first time I heard of/saw a Needham's skimmer was through a post here at NPN about a year ago.  Now they seem to be "everywhere".  They are beautiful DF's and this is a fine look at this one with excellent sharpness on the skimmer, some nice glitter in the wings and a background that sets the stage well without interfering with the subject.  The red DF shows off very well against the greens.

BTW, I have no problems with multiple posts of the same critter.  As I've learned from experience, there's no way to know what "the public" will like, having had people request prints of pictures that I thought were only okay.
