Dragonfly On A Cattail

I shot this handheld with my Canon 5D Mark II with Canon 100mm L macro lens and KX-800 twin flash with homemade diffuser. Settings were f27, 1/90, ISO 200. Edited lightly in Lightroom and NIK. Cropped to 85% of original for better composition. Comments and suggestions are always welcome.

Fine techs with flash and tiny aperture, Shirley. Excellent job hand holding, too. I'm surprised you could get so close to this guy. I've rarely seen so much of a DF image in such good focus. If it were mine I think it could go a bit brighter. I'd be proud to have such a good image.

Great image of this dragonfly Shirley! Excellent sharpness and detail. The cloudy blue sky is a nice BG.

This is a great look at this DF, Shirley, with amazing dof. I think it's a female Bar-winged Skimmer. The cattail head and partly cloudy sky are fine additions to an image that sings of summer.

this is a cracker, beautifully composed, and fine bg of the sky. This works very well and the wings against the sky is the icing..

Shirley this is amazing, nice sharp detail and great point of view. He looks like a giant on top of that cattail. I like how the wings are so prominent and you can see all the fine detail. Congratulation on the weekly pick too!
