Western Bluebird (F)

Our Bluebirds fledged their second brood yesterday and I've been taking images of the adults bringing food for them off and on over the last week or two.  While this image isn't anything special photographically, it's the only time I've sen one bringing non-insect food.  In this case it's a berry from one of our native Hawthorn trees.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, tripod with ball head and Sidekick, f/8, 1/5000, iso 2500 (forgot to change it from the previous day when it was very overcast), + 1/3 EV.  Processed in LR & PS CC.  Cropped to 9.7 MP.  Taken at 6:46 am under sunny early morning light (it was already starting to get a bit harsh for anything but straight over-the-shoulder lighting).

Your comments and critiques are very much appreciated.

Thanks,

I actually like the lighting on this shot, Dennis.  I also like the shot, with nice detail in the feathers.  I know, it isn't on one of the special perches you have set up, or in your pond, but it still renders a nice shot of this bluebird gathering food for her young.  Our Eastern Bluebirds have their second fledging, and feeding them as well, with mostly small bugs and spiders, but as they get older they will be bringing in good sized grasshoppers, etc. I enjoy capturing them with their "game" in the beaks.
