Looks like it's overflowing that nest, Sandy.  A really cool perspective.

Great to see the chick and surrounding habitat, Sandy. You got an excellent perspective with the chick head-on and all the elements very sharp. How accessible was this nest?

Govind, it's VERY accessible, clearly!
This is a "local secret" in Nome - the nest is 50+ miles up a gravel road, but only about 20 feet high in the rocks and maybe 30 feet from the road.
Funny, though, I later found the nest site and mile-marker clearly listed in a published  "Nome Wildlife" guide, so it's obviously not THAT much of a "secret."

Love the head on perspective and the rugged BG.

It sure is a big Eaglet.  Looks like it's taking up the whole nest!  Nice capture of it, Sandy.  You sure made the best of your trip to Nome. You've captured quite a variety of subjects!

Hi Sandy,

It's wonderful to see the eaglet in this plumage phase, although I know your were hoping for more of the fuzzy white phase. Sweet resting pose you have here with excellent details, I like how he fills up the nest. Looks like that new lens is a keeper.

By the way, two days after our tour in early June, I was at the nest site and did see two chicks for sure, never did see a third chick. I'm looking forward to seeing more from your second adventure to Nome.

A Beauty!

Hi Sandy,

I like this version better over your previous version. The pose shows how imposing junior is and being the biggest certainly helped him be the lone survivor...........................Jim
