Had a chance to run up into the mountains east of home today.  Many small warblers, tanagers, etc.

It's always a good day when I'm able to get a Townsends in the viewfinder.

Techs:

Olympus EM-1 Mark II
Olympus 300 f/4 with 1.4x tc

1/800 @ f/5.6 ISO 640, Handheld

Keith, This is exemplary work, as usual, particularly using contrasting light and getting the exposure perfect. What mode did you shoot it in?  Not just technically exact but just the plain good fortune of catching a warbler so cleanly available. Went to Magee Marsh for the first time this spring. What a warbler-wonder experience that is! Never seen anything like it. Being from the west, maybe you haven't had the opportunity and in case not -- here's a scene from the boardwalk.  -Dave

Dave:  I was in Aperture Priority Mode, Center Weighted Averaging Metering, EV @ -1/3

Thanks for your comment.

No, I have never been to the Magee Marsh you referenced.  Looks like combat Photography!!  I was shooting all by myself this AM. I enjoy that...

Gorgeous detail, Keith, and I like the mottled sunlight.  Nicely done.

Hi Keith
I think you have a cover shot here.  Really nice control of the light.
