Really nice capture of the Gallinule. He is sharp and I love the pose. The colors are wonderful. The branch that he is holding looks a bit odd. It may be that the branch extends behind the focal plane and as a result, it is out of focus and a little "muddy".  Also, the Gallinule's bill is open, but the branch doesn't appear to be captured by the bill. Maybe it's just an optical illusion. Regardless, really nice capture.

Neat pose.  The color palette is great and the multi-colored background fits in well with the bird.

I did not see the original image, Sandy, but that is one colorful bird with a very nice background. You caught an interesting pose and behavior, and the dropped flower adds a lot. I like your choice of composition too.

Hi, Jerry - if you look closely at the big version, you can see he has grasped the "pea pod" thing in his beak, not the stems. The stems ARE a bit weird - he has pulled a piece of them off the plant.

Great shot, Sandy.  I love the pose he gave you.  Great detail and color in the bird, which, to me is what matters most.

I can see why you'd want to get this one perfect, Sandy.  That pose and the flowers in the beak are fantastic.  The brightness and saturation look good, but for my taste, the bird feels a bit oversharpened, producing a coarse looking texture to the plumage.  Flamenco Dancer?

I really like the interesting pose, and out of the water as well to show off those wonderful huge feet, and the detail is great. To me this looks oversaturated, but then maybe they are that much more colorful in Florida than others I've seen.

Remarkable image, Sandy. I think it would make a perfect metallic print.
