Rock Wren

Canon 1D-X, 500mm x 2.0 teleconverter, tripod
f13, 1/640, ISO1600

Steens Mountain Summit, in pretty heavy smoke, so the light is funky despite my efforts at adjusting white balance.

75% of full frame, selective sharpening of bird, adjustments to Levels and contrast to try to minimize off-colored light.

C & C, please. Thanks for looking.

Hi Jim
Nice work, the soft background really helps the Wren to stand out.

Hi Jim,

You have a nice pose and good rock work in this comp. You could bump up the brightness a touch  as my only suggestion. Otherwise, I like your image as is........................Jim

Excellent detail in the wren, Jim.  I'm not bothered by a little color cast-it just reflects the conditions.

Nice work with this Rock wren Jim! I don't mind the smoke issue either.

I really like this pose and perch.  The background works well.  The light is wonderful.  In this case, the smoke may have actually contributed to the overall effect of the light.  We also have been affected by the smoke and rumor has it it will return tomorrow.

I think the muted lighting actually worked in your favor, Jim. The image is well composed and I like the lichen covered perch.
