I was having a bit of coffee and watching the sun come up with all the fog on lake georgetown. I had to catch this moment on film...so I did!
Whatcha think?

Very pretty image. I love the quietness of it. I find the lighter ULC a bit distracting though. I would try darkening it and see if that would fix it.

I think I'm glad you caught on film, Scott! The ULH doesn't bother me at all. This is beautiful scene that you photographed masterfully. Well done!

Love the toning, Scott. The light mist, textures and dappled light all work very well together. I also like the Pano approach. Good work.

Scott,

I like the shot! It does a great job conveying the mood and I like the composition. Nice.

Do you have a top-hat extension board on the 450mm or is it a telephoto?

The light and mood of this is awesome, Scott. I really like how the snaggy tree is set off by the fog/mist behind it.

Nice spooky atmosphere you got there Scott. The ULC doesn't bother me either. The black touching the bottom edge of the frame however does - I'd crop if off.

Wonderful quiet mood to this, and I like the toning. I would consider dodging just a little bit around the dead tree on the left to make it stand out more.
The 450 was a good choice here, compressing the distant elements with the closer ones.

Thanks for all the comments. I'll play with it some more but kind of like the darkness on the bottom to the light of the ULC.
Harley, it is Fuji 450C on an extension tube. See pic here

I am still trying to get the full contrast of the lens. The HUGE image circle seems to be spraying light all over the place. I added a lens hood and lined the tube with some black material which seemed to help. I might need to reduce the size of the tube. Right now it focuses the 450 at infinity about the same as the 300.
Thanks again for the comments!

Scott,

I have the same lens mounted on an Ebony extension board, with two extension sections (Linhof-style board). I have not used it with my Toho yet, but I have used it with my Arca. So far, images with that setup have looked fine. No lack of contrast. If I notice any degradation, I will give your extension modification a go. Thanks for the info.
