Madison Morning

Lots of elk activity along the Madison River in Yellowstone this year. Last week, there were two elk fights in the river, but I missed both of them. So it's back to the sunrise silohuettes.

Maxxum 7D, 600 f4 w/ 1.4, f 5.6 @ meter -1, ISO 200.

Excellent job Pete...you're killing me...I'm not able to get up to Yellowstone for the elk rut this year...but the fall colors in Utah are helping to make up for it. I love this image.

Pete, you really can make a grown man cry! My wife and I haven't been to Yellowstone for a couple of years, and this image certainly makes us want to go back. Great handling of the exposure on this one as well. Sorry to hear about missing the rut fights - maybe you'll still get one this year.

I really like this, Pete. The silhouette coupled with the color of ths rising mist is really good. I just got back from my first trip from Yellowstone as was amazed watching all of these big boys.

Beautiful silohuette, Pete!

It's so sharp and I love the composition. It almost looks like Bambi's dad in the forest fire - but in a good way ;)

Guy, you captured the moment !!! Nice silouette of the deer. Also the shadow on the grass forms a line to you main subject. The backlight in the fog gives the image its special mood. This is an image a would hang up at my wall.
