Tufted Titmouse
by Garth McElroy
For a lot of people tufted titmice are a common feeder bird. Where I live in NH we're on the very northern fringe of their range and I rarely see them. Every fall we get a couple in the yard for a few days. I took advantage of some very limited sunshine this morning and tried for a few shots. Taken in bright overcast conditions so I opted to leave the flash off for this shot. Flash and gray birds can be tricky to judge. Thanks for looking.

Great color, it is a shame that you could not get his butt in focus.
SOmebody use the word exquisite to describe this shot....my thoughts exactly.
Cheers,
Everyone seems to like this shot a lot. I've got to say I'm on the bandwagon too. This shot "rocks"! And, I noticed that you had 19 comments and thought I might as well push it over the edge to 20! Way to go!

Are you sure this isn't a ceramic Tufted Titmouse
Marvelous color on the bird. I like how your background reflects the orange and pinks in the bird's feathers.
