After shooting Pine warblers thursday I decided to walk the creek bed in search of Louisiana Waterthrush, but I found a much sought after Winter wren.I know this shot is busy but I keep coming back to it...What do you think?

Great shot Kevin! I really like it. The bird is so sharp that it stands out well from the background. I love the perch and the way the wren is looking at the water. :toast: :toast:

I like it a lot--the background of leaves and twigs and the water place the bird in context, and the wren's attitude is so focused that it adds to the natural quality. The focus is so crisp there's no danger of losing the bird in the background...so it's not at all too busy for my taste.

This really works for me too Kevin. :toast: The habitat really suits this little guy and I'm amazed you were able to get one to perch for you. Well done.

AWESOME shot. I love to see a bird in "all natural" habitat. It shows you had to work for it.

I really like this. I don't find the BG distracting at all. You were able to get in close for shot like this, is this cropped? I'd be happy to have any clear, sharp shot of a winter wren. :toast:

Hi Kevin

Like everyone else I really 'rate' this image. The perch in the middle of a puddle is great and the busy BG all make this one of the best and most natural images of a Wren I have ever seen!

Wow Kevin, this is really good! I love the intimate and gazing look of this winter wren. The BG doesn't bother me at all and IMO actually adds to the scene! Great one!

Hi Kevin,

Busy or not, this shot is gorgeous. Yes, it is "busier" than many shots we see on this forum, but in this case I think "more is more." Winter Wrens are rarely found anywhere that's not "busy," so it's only appropriate to portray them that way. Great work!!

Good shooting,
