After shooting with Steve Muskie and Rick Collier for most of the day at the dam area lookout Rick and I went back at sunset to grab a few more.

Thanks for looking and commenting.

Rick -

Nice color and composition. The shade of orange gives the image a soft pastel look. Very nice.

Howdy Rick  . You won't catch me in avian very often Rick, I don't know one flying gadget to another, but I do know what I like and consider natures beauty. To capture that is always fantastic to see, no matter what the subject is. This shot is an example of why, this is one vertical I love. The lighting is excellent, the details are just great, the balance in my eyes is brilliant. Not much of a critique I'm afraid, its just something that jumped out and really appealed. Back to macro, LOL.

All the best Rick, had to comment on this one :toast:

Very nice portrait. The dark heaa make this a tought exposrue, but other than the few spots of hot white on the wings, you habdled it very well.

Is it the burnished brass color of the water (and the fact that it is picked up by the stork's plumage) or the evocative broken up reflection? Whichever (or both) it is, this image is amazing.

Rick, this is gorgeous. I've never tried shooting at the dam late in the day like that. With this picture you've shown me what I've been missing. I'll have to try it now! I love the background color and the bird's pose, along with the reflection.

My favorite Wood Stork image to date! This is a winner for sure in IMHO. Just the right amount of flash on those white feathers to show detail and that golden water, well it doesn't get better than that. (However, mother nature gets some of the credit.) Well done Rick.
