White Wagtail Motacilla alba
Herdubreidarlindir, NE Highlands, Iceland, June 2003

10D, 500/4, 1,4xTC

Everyone knows when you got a beak full of bugs, you gotta shake! This Wagtail was photographed in a lava field where it was bringing food to it's nest, at 5 AM. I'm anxiously awaiting the return of the Arctic summer.

Excellent shot Daniel. The lava makes a great perch and the background is wonderful.

I've seem but not shot relatives of this bird wintering in Thailand, so I know how hyper they can be. You've got a nice clean well lit shot here and the bugs in the bill are a bonus.

Daniel,
Very nice shot. Iceland would be a golfer's paradise if it's like this at 5AM.

Nice one,
I too am looking forward to the short Arctic summer, especially the return of the Wagtails and Terns.

Cheers,
