White Tulip

I know tulips get posted here quite a bit but this is the first time I have done this. I got some red and white tulips for Valentine's Day and the white ones just looked so pretty with the window light shining through them that I had to photo them. Thanks for looking and always appreciate hearing what you think.

Mary,

Never apologize for posting commonly photographed subjects. The majority of what I post has been done hundreds of times. It's your view of things that makes each image different. This is a very striking image. You done a great job of capturing the soft whites of this flower. I also like the slightly off center placement of the stamens/pistols. Excellent work!!!!

I agree with Ronnie with the stamens being off center a bit. And I love the softness of the petal...a surreal feeling. Nicely done, Mary.

Hi Mary,

I like this. The soft light, subtle colors and selective DOF all come together in this image. Nice job.

Cheers,

Thanks for the kind words folks. Ronnie, you are right about each person bringing a unique view to a commonly photographed subject. I appreciate your words very much and am encouraged by them. Thank you.

Mary,

Congrats on Pick Of The Week. It's your imagination that sets this image apart from the many images of this flower.

Thank you Ronnie. The weather is good today and I'm feeling a little burst of creative excitement this morning. Think I'll pack up the gear and head out!
