A personal favorite from a few years back. Just sold a print of this image which gave me an excuse to get a drum scan, so thought I'd share it here as well. I am standing with my feet just on the edge of Lake Michigan, in the West Beach area of the Indiana Dunes. I wish I could order up skies like this all the time....

4x5 camera, 210mm lens, polarizer, big piece of Fuji film!

Very, very nice. I could be anywhere, almost. The elements come together very well here.

This is really, really nice Christopher. Very quiet with a contemplative, harmonious feel to it.

It's easy to see why this is a personal favorite! I really like the low comp with the vast amount of sky. Works very well IMO.

Hi John,

This is absolutely delightful. What I find most fascinating about it is the simplicity. You have just the right elements in the frame, which together have so much to tell.

I have learned a lot about composition by just studying this photograph. Thanks.

Thanks all - glad it resonates with others as well.

Anil, I hope you meant that note for me, since it's addressed to John!! It's very flattering and much appreciated.

Mary, I think you have captured in a few choice words my own feelings as well....

Hi CJ,

Sorry about that. Yes, its you I was addressing in my comment.

I guess I must have been smoking something...or else its been too long since I visited my beloved San Mateo Coast and I am suffering from withdrawl symptoms.

Great looking sky, I'm sur ethe JPEG doesn't do it justice, like the soft lighting and fg to go with the great looking clouds.
