Kingfisher 'female'
by David Kjaer
My last decent images of Kingfisher were taken on Kodachrome so I was pleased when a good friend invited me over to a site he had been working on.
Sorry not so many posts or comments lately as I have been very busy and my daughter is getting married on Monday and from early June she will be living in Texas just north of Austin - so if anyone knows of any good wildlife spots in the area please get in touch as I will be spending a few weeks each year with her.

Yes her huband to be is a Major in the US Army and after two years in England has been posted to Texas. His family live in Maine so it looks like Louise's move to the US is permanent and we will be visiting quite a bit!

This is a beautiful image. Really like the perch and pose (how relaxed she looks). Given the environment that Kingfishers hang out in, the cattail reed for a perch is just perfect. An excellent image indeed.
I live just north of Austin, TX in Georgetown. Depending on the time of year you visit, there are many things that may interest you. Please look us up when you are over and I can talk to you more about the details and perhaps show you some areas. Email me if you like at: rbuquoi@ecpi.com

Doesn't suprise me in the slightest to see this wonderful image being chosen for the Editors Pick.
A top shot in every way.
This little bird would be perfect on a totem pole.
Thanks for sharing.
