This bird has been a MAJOR nemesis of mine for the last couple years. Finally found a coopperative one over the weekend. Taken just after sunrise. Thanks for looking.

Congrats on getting this nemesis the way you did....impressive. But I find the perc and tail a bit too tight to the frame. :toast:

Excellent! Not a fault but with the background so far behind the bird I'm wondering whether you might have been able to stop down a little in order to get the tail in focus - I suspect there wasn't that much light?

I wish my bird photos came out just half as well.

The light and action is perfect!! But I would make a less tight crop (on the sides) too, if possible.

Beautiful image Garth, lovely light, perfect BG, the open beak, nice perch (but a bit tight on the left). You did not state SS and aperture, but stopping down a bit would maybe have brought the tail in sharp focus, without affecting the BG...? :toast:

You must be really proud of this one Garth.

BG colours compliment the bird very nicely. 10 on 10!
