Always together in the mountains

When I came down the mountains of the holidays I wrote here that the little flowers of the Alps are not as beautiful as orchids, waterlilies, roses, tulips. So I have photographed the flowers toghether with a piece of their environment: mountains, tarns, meadows, wood, rocks, moss. Now I start again with this kind of pictures sometimes out of the box hoping that you will like them or on the other hand that you will have patience with me.
In the Alps stork's bills are the most widespread plants and they are almost always coupled with wood.

D2X, Nikkor F200mm. micro - f/11 and ISO 280.

I will be very glad to know your thouths, thanks.

Giuseppe, This really works for me. :toast: I love the color of the flowers against the log. And the knot in the log adds greatly to the comp. While I may not have the experience with the technical aspects like most of the others here, this looks spot on to me. Most importantly for me this photo has a "feel". It is very warm and peaceful.
Good eye! :toast: :toast:

Gigi: This is a superb rendering. The texture and color of the wood is the perfect BG for the flowers and leaves. Remarkably good vision, remarkably good photography. >=))>

You will be hard pressed to find a flower more beautiful than this. The addition of the natural environment makes it better. The log adds impact to the colors in the flowers. I think I like every thing about this. :toast: :toast: :toast:

Very nice capture of the flower in it's habitat. Love the very dark browns of the wood against the purple of the blooms. :wavey:

This is a great contrast in details.. I think it would also look wonderful rotated 90 degrees CCW for a portrait orientation too! :toast:

Top notch image Gigi. Incredible sharpness and detail. I agree with Bill that the log makes a fantastic BG. Great comp, the knot in the log serves as a perfect counter to the flowers. I really like this, nice job.

The pattern in the wood has the look of a stork's head to me - facing to the right. What a wonderful combination. I really like this one, Gigi.

Once again I have to pick myself up from the floor after being blown out of my chair by one of your images, Gigi! Take it easy, will ya! This is just stunning! I love everything about it. You are really on a masterful campaign with your art lately. I, for one, am surely enjoying watching your progress in amazement. Kudos, my friend. :toast:

Not sure if the orientation works for me...perhaps rotation this 90 degrees CCW would work better for me. Also I'd like to see this on natural setting as the tree on the background looks like a crafted one. Nontheless great lines and contrast!

Gigi, I missed this one the first time through the forum (so I'm glad it's the MP for this week!). A beautiful combination of dark tones and color & delicate flowers and strong wood grains! Great eye and congratulations on the MP this week! :toast:

Well, I am a bit moved for so many compliments! Thanks very much to all.
Two words about the wood that it's not crafted as Jasper suppose. During the night the rain falled and in the early morning the air was very cold. That is way the wood is shining. The magic light before the sun awakes made the rest.
Thanks again.
