Facing the Light

I'm still hooked on Dahlias!

I liked the way the sun was lighting the face of this small Dahlia. Exposing for the bright yellow center, I was able to let the already dark background go black.

I'm away from home at this time, using an unfamiliar PC. I hope any images I post within the next week or so look okay re contrast, exposure, etc. If not, please bear with me.

Pentax K10D, Sigma 105 macro, f7.1, 1/400, iso 200

A real beauty, Toni! The light perfectly showcases the dahlia and at the same time lets your BG go black.

- fine lighting and control on the yellows. Moving the Dahlia a little higher in the frame might have looked good as well.

I love the simplicity of this photo, Toni. The way the stem enters the frame, with the flower looking off to the upper right is really nice. The lighting is just perfect.
