Crocus Color Ballet

Painting with a camera? Crocus in my neighbor's parking strip provided lots of subject matter.

D200, 105/2.8 macro; f 36, 1/10, +0.33 EV, ISO 200. Panned.
In CS3: ACR, High pass sharpen.

Hope you enjoy this as much as I did making it. Thanks for looking.

Very abstract, with wonderful color. Very cool. I also like this with about a 1/2 crop from top... the remaining yellow looks like flames.

WOW! This really captures my attention. Fun to gaze at the vertical sweeping strokes of color. Great job of crocus impressionism! I can hardly stand that our crocus are a few weeks out.

It gives me an impression of a tropical bird. Very nifty. That is is smallest aperture I've seen used in a while.

Great abstract, Catherine! I love that you can still make out the shape of the purple crocuses!! I've tried this technique a few times, but it's hard to find something I really like. Great job on this one!

Very artistic and impressionistic Catherine! I like it. I think for me, I would crop a slice off of each side so that the dark strips on the edges are gone.

This is totally amazing, Catherine. I love the concept and the wash of colors you created with it. I will have to remember to try this when the tulips come out.

If this is the shot you were going for ... all the embarrassment was worth it  I also think I might like a small crop from the top.
