Croajingolong National Park, Victoria, AUSTRALIA.
This place is named after the indigenous people who inhabited the land at least 40,000 years ago. The area is UNESCO listed for its unique and fragile environment. I'm interested in the ancient landscape, carved by the sea. Trying to explore more of my own country this year. This shot taken from my first shoot this year. I hope you enjoy it.

Canon 5D, 24-105mm 4L IS, Gitzo tripod.

The dramatic sky is the perfect backdrop for this image.

This is excellent work here. The composition is very well done, I love how the sky effectively complements the rest of the scene. That rockformation is highly interesting - lots of interesting shapes and colors. I also like how the smaller rocks around the main rock are aligned. Perfect!

Beautiful, Winnie...this has a prehistoric feel to it. Wonderful detail in the rocks and a great sky. It's a very minor technical issue, but you've got a bit of haloing going on where the rocks and sky meet in the left half of the frame.

Like it? I love it! I'm really fascinated by the orange band of rock in the fin. It is unexpected to see such a splash of color in an otherwise somewhat monochromatic image. Killer sky and wonderful wave action.

I enjoy the delicate palette of this one, Winnie.
The rock formations are very interesting with a lot of details and subtle colors.
I like also the way the clouds lead in the eyes to the centre of the picture.

Great stuff Winnie. Powerful subject under a complimentary powerful sky. The whites give nice separation between the rock formations. Those colour splashes are really effective. I'd crop/clone on the left to take that sliver of vertical rock out but that's just me. A real winner.

That's an impressive shot. The cold and warm tones are harmonizing so well here. The sky adds the rest.

Great composition. I like the brightness of the orange lichen and the contrast of the grey rock against the blue water and sky.

Hi Winnie,

Great composition! I love the broad V of clouds centred around the rock peak. I also like how the arrangement of rocks has a very directional feel pointing to the right and out to sea. The lead-ins from the corners work very well. The splash of orange is very welcome and makes a good focal point.

I knew I was going to like this one from just the thumbnail. Great composition and incorporation of that dramatic sky. My eye bounces around this image very nicely, scouring all the wonderful colors and shapes. If I was to nitpick anything, and this is being really nitpicky mind you  ...I'd favor maybe a little more detail in the sky's brightest portions and maybe cloning or cropping that little stone edge out peeking into the LLC. I only mention that because this is so darn good to begin with. Excellent work!

Thanks for all your comments and suggestions. I had similar thoughts for improvement. Here is the repost, which took a while as a mistakenly lost my layered psd version, so started from scratch again. LRC rock cropped out, adjusted midtone levels, corrected horizon tilt and mild barrel distortion. I needed Kah Kit's help to exorcise the haloes. Otherwise I was trying to get it to look like the previous version. If any of you look back, pls let me what you think. I very much appreciate your time and assistance.

Im assuming you mean LLC? Anyhow, outstanding shot, i love it! My only disagreement in the repost is that i prefer the brightness of the original, which i prefer overall.

Very nice, Winnie. I am really drawn to the rust colors in the middle of the frame. The sky is amazing as is the combination of smaller rocks around the larger monolith. Nicely done.

Thanks guys. Sorry, I meant LLC rock. I agree, I also prefer the colours on the first one. I have taken a lighter version to the lab today. We'll see how that goes.

Very beautiful, Winnie. The rugged rocks and dramatic, flowing clouds just make this image for me. I love all the detail here. It feels like I'm standing just out of the frame, even at this small jpeg size.
