Although the face of this one is lovely, I am always drawn to the profile, displaying the beautiful nectar spur.

D70, Nikkor 28-105 macro, tripod, natural light, ISO 200, f/14, 1/30 sec, BG is a mat board, cropped a bit from the left side, some selective clone work, levels and USM

Fine shot. Beautiful flower. I wonder what the picture would look like without the leaf between the 2 flowers?

Beautiful shot Maureen. I love this. I tried something similar last week with two clematis buds. I love the varied lighting between the two flowers.

Super composition. The exposure is spot on for the light, but I wish the light were a little more even. This is under controlled conditions, I think, so you could put a diffusor between the light source and the subject. That would cut the light way down, but should smooth it out. I hate to see any part of such a great composition fade into the background. This is the best of the series, so far (take that as a challenge).

Right, thats it, that D70 has to go. You are having way too much fun and the results show it  As already said, outstanding comp and seeing. The curves, twists and folds in this give it some feeling Maureen.

All the best Maureen, great subtle flowing macro. :toast:

Very well composed and executed shot.

There is an almost animal feel to these flowers, as though they were dragons stalking prey (I might be sounding daft here), just my impression. Great work.

This and the other photographs in your gallery are exceptional. I just happened to stumble on them, because your self portrait with grandchild (?) was so interesting. You have produced some incredible botanical photographs.
