Snow Ball

This little Japanese snow monkey made itself a nice snow ball and had a fun time playing with it.

I metered off the snow and used some fill flash (tuned all the way down to -3EV) to brighten the face a little.

D2Xs, AF-S 28-70/2.8, 1/180 @ f/8.0, SB800 @ -3EV, ISO 320, handheld

Marsel, I don't usually post or comment in the fauna gallery, but I am making an exception here only because this image is so exceptional. I love it. :toast:

Hi Marsel,

Absolutely brilliant shot! I simply love it! It's almost as if he is making the snowball and eyeing up his target!

This is a neat shot and nice job on the exposure. Those eyes are very sharp also.

Killer shot! I love his posture and attention to you. He seems to be maintaining a watch on you whilst carrying on with the snowball. Marsel, I am running out of superlatives to describe my response to your work.

Marsel, Great capture! Very difficult conditions, without your knowledge and expertise this image would have been destined for failure. The detail is excellent.

Compliments... the monkey's expression is almost human. Perfect illumination.

Marsel,

Great picture. I love the look in the monkeys eyes. It looks like it is either getting mad or thinks that it might be in trouble. Where was the picture taken.

Somehow I missed this last week - what a shot! The stare in his eyes is really amazing, well caught. Seems like I have competition for the best snowball maker!
