A Flood of Golden Sunlight

This is one of many rose closeup images that I captured earlier this Spring.

Shooting Data:
D200, f/2.8 70-200 mm lens, f/9 1/50s, 200mm, Matrix Metering, Canon 500D CU lens, tripod, cable release.

Post processing included a minor crop to remove a part of an OOF leaf and a curves adjustment layer to add linear contrast and enhance the gold in the light. Smart sharpening to prepare the image for the 'net.

This is one rose bush that only seems to bloom in the early Spring and while I'm not a Rose gardener, I did enjoy those roses.

Thanks for viewing and leaving your comments.

Hope you are all having a great Memorial Day. Me? I got a speeding ticket so I'm not a happy camper. The oh-so gracious cop told me I was the only person who smiled at him all day! He didn't realize that under my gracious smile were many nasty ungracious 4, 5, 6, and 7-letter words!

:wavey:

Carol, This is awesome :toast: - from one of my most favourite flowers. Just wish the petal was a bit more fresh looking.

Carol,

The oof style is not really my cup of tea but I certainly like the color and the light here. Sorry to hear about the ticket. Authority is just plain hard to live with. I sympathize. (smile)

Love this, Carol. Beautifully executed with its dim petal shapes in the BG - really dreamy ( though I agree with Ram over the front petal ). Hope you have managed to calm down by now !!

I'll echo Ram; really nice, but would be perfect if the edge of the petal was fresher.

The color and light are very nice Carol. It would have been even better with a "fresh" petal edge. Sorry to hear about the ticket ... hope you had a great weekend anyway!
