I just got started in photography about 2 years ago and have been bitten by the photo bug. I love all kinds of photography but I especially enjoy avian photography. I started with a Nikon D40 and quickly outgrew it and purchased a D90. I realy wanted a second camera to carry with me and so I just baught the new D300S as my prime camera and the D90 as my backup. I have never used the video feature on either of my camera bodies. I live in Southern California where I feel fortunate to have year round shooting oportunites (especially winter) with birds. I love to shoot the mouth of the San Diego River as well as Bolsa Chica and Newport Backbay. I am still very new to this phenomenon and am learning everyday from sites like this. My favorite lense is the 200-400mm nikon zoom. I'd love to own a 600mm but I don't know what planet Nikon has chosen to sell it on. Does not appear to be available on earth. I am an absolute beginner in the post processing department. I use Elements 8. I will need some help from other members to help me with posting pictures and such. I much prefer the picture taking to the computer time afterwords.
I look forward to posting pictures as well as receiving comments on how to improve my photography. I also look forward to running into some of you out in the California wilderness.
