Great Blue Heron Flying

This Great Blue heron at the Venice Rookery in Florida was flying back and forth to its nest, bringing sticks for nesting material to its mate. It was well "rewarded" for bringing back a good stick. I loved the way the leaves were reflecting on the water and waited to compose and capture this Great Blue flying back to the nest with a stick right over this green reflection. This was taken, on a tripod, with a Canon 20D and a Canon 500mm f4 IS lens. AV mode 13200 sec, f5.6 -1 exposure compensation.
