Hampi is a place of boulder strewn ruins of a former mediveal empire in southern India. During the 14th-15th century, artwork here rivalled the best in the world. There are fabulous temples and royal palaces that have been simply made from carved rocks, picked from the countryside. But the countryside itself is ripe with smaller creations too, and the one in this photograph is one of them.
