Red Rock Jumble

On my first lengthy road trip through the Southwest it surely was difficult to keep my eyes on the road and to NOT stop every 50 ft., as scenes like this were astounding and ubiquitous. I was impressed here by how tumbled and oddly piled the boulders looked, the patterns in the rocks and their joining together to design the scene. There is a huge cliff above these rocks, where weaker areas in the cliff gave way eons ago and tossed these boulders down to earth.
