I can't seem to find the Microtek Artixscan M1 available anywhere! What is going on with Microtek? Did they discontinue this scanner? Anyone with one that does not need it anymore?

It's been discontinued.

Here's a link to a message on the Microtek USA website, http://www.microtekusa.com/

How ugly. :frown:
I have had nothing but Microtek scanners for the last 15 years. Never had any issues at all with the units, only changed to upgrade with newer technology in the product line each time. Thankfully the one I have is still working fine.

My 1800f has been working wonderfully (knocks on head as a metaphor for wood).

My understanding is that MT will continue to support it's offerings, but you can't buy new units. This is sad to see, imho, but at the very least they are continuing to support their products.

Youssef, It looks like we'll be stuck with Epson, or we'll have to go to one of the high end scanners--not something I'm looking forward to, that's for sure. Ack!

My understanding is that MT will "support" their scanners only in that they will replace units that fail under warranty. No other support or repair is available. Looks like Epson is the only game left in town.
