I have a new monitor HP LP2275w and I also purchased the eye-one display2 system. After calibration and profiling the screen everything appears to be set right in Windows display properties (older XP machine). The correct profile is set as default in color management. Every thing is fine until after some time (I don't really know how long)the monitor reverts back to a previous state (profile?). Every time I reboot the computer, the proper monitor profile is reset (?)and color is correct on the screen again (for a while). Even when it reverts back to a previous monitor setting, the correct default profile is still showing in display properties. The first time this happened I thought a simple reboot would correct the problem, but it continues this behavior even after reboot. (especially if it has been in sleep mode for awhile). Anyone have any ideas what is going on here?

I suggest you turn off the sleep or hibernate function of your computer. If the system sleeps or hibernates it doesn't load color profiling again until the system is turned off and rebooted.
Be sure you have also disabled Adobe Gamma from your start up menu.

Ed's right. I have this problem on my laptop. If I just close the lid and it goes into hibernation mode, when I restart it, the display profile isn't loaded. I have to go into the Colorvision Profile Choose to reset it. And yes, make sure Adobe Gamma and/or Adobe Gamma Loader are turned off in your Startup options under Start>Run>msconfig(Startup tab).

Could someone share the abreviation in the Startup tab that denotes the Adobe Gamma feature.
Thanks
Ken

No abbreviation. They're called Adobe Gamma and Adobe Gamma Loader.

Thanks, Ed and Robert. I had no idea. This solves my problem.
All of these monitor calibration systems include a little .executable that is used to load the default profile in the graphics card when the computer is started. You can also make a little shortcut to run this program whenever you suspect that your profile isn't loaded. For the i1Match software look for something called "Calibration Loader.exe" in the Calibration Loader folder in your Program Files directory.
Also, Xrite has a free program called DisplayProfile that does a little more. When you open it, it simply lists all the display profiles that are available on your computer. You can click back and forth between them and instantly load a new profile while you watch.
