Time for a monitor upgrade !

Recommendations , please, for a very sharp wide-screen for photo editing? And less than $100 please? (LOL - I can dream, can't I?)
but maybe around $500 or so ?

thanks to all -

What size of display are you looking for?

Sandy - I bought a Soyo 24" widescreen monitor last summer. I love it! Very reasonably priced for it's size and quality. I just checked officemax.com and see they are selling now for 299.99.

If you are willing to spend just a bit more, you can move up from monitors using TN technology to those using Vertical Alignment. "VA" is used in the higher-end professional monitors. These monitors are less prone to color shift between on/off cycles and by viewing angle. I have a Dell 24" widescreen and it's a beautiful thing. Currently, Dell has it on sale for $599. Also have a look at Fujitsu siemens screens they are superb at rendering color and are in your price range.
