Saw this link posted on another forum and thought folks here might be interested as well.

It's a side called Golden Hour and it allows you to track the movement of the sun throughout the day at any location on the globe. So if you're planning a trip and want to know when 'Magic Hour' will be, plug in your location, choose the date(s) and it'll pop up the information for you. It's pretty cool. And it's free!

Robert, thanks for that link. I bookmarked it. With all the info and aids for landscape photogs on this site, I might turn into a landscape guy yet.

For me, the "magic hour" begins an hour after sunset, and lasts until dawn.

I added it to my sun & moon bookmarks. It's cute. I wish it had azimuth

Hi all - many thanks for the kind comments, I'm the site developer and it's been great to see so much enthusiasm for it.

Buck - you say it would be great if it had azimuth - do you mean you would like to see that for each 1/2hr plot of the sun? Did you notice that it is displayed for the sunrise and sunset times when you hover over the golden hour? Or perhaps you'd prefer a graphical representation with compass points? - If people think that would be particularly useful I'm more than happy to code it as the astronomical rountines I have under the hood can certainly calculate it OK.

My aim is to try to make it a genuinely useful site for photographers like myself (you'll find me on flickr under the username rogermoffatt) so if you have thoughts as to extra features you would like, I'm more than happy to consider them.

Thanks again
