WC #345-Protection

Taken off the coast of Borneo on Sipadan Island using a housed Canon 20d w/100mm macros and dual strobes.

The relationship between the Anenomefish and the Anenome is one of protection due to the stinging ability of the host Anenome to predators of the Anenomefish.

As always, your comments are greatly appreciated, hope you enjoy this one.

Beautiful comp and eye contact. The post processing looks a bit off though, all the natural shadows have been removed and some noise has been introduced.

Thanks Benjamin for commenting on my post. After reading your comments I went back to the raw file to see if indeed some natural shadows had been removed-their all there. Dual strobes underwater help to eliminate shadows, but not entirely just as in the studio. I believe the noise you might be seeing is from upsizing for the posting. Ordinarily I would process at the size I am posting but in this case I did indeed get a bit lazy. I have this same image on my company vehicle for advertising in a 28" size.

Hi Jeffrey, Nemo! How perfect! I really like the fact that he is glaring at us--dead on. Nice job. :toast:

I can't address noise at this level of reduction. Too hard to tell. I do like the orange glow in the URC.

Wonderful environmental image. It takes on more meaning with the anenome surround Nemo. Love it!

A wonderful interactive shot Jeff. Since I know nothing of underwater photography techniques I can't offer a real critique. I like the shot.

Great use of color in the composition, Jeff. The sense of safety among the anemones couldn't be clearer. The band of gray on the fish and the eye contact help cement the relationship visually.
