You couldn't have done it better if you had posed him yourself!

Graham, I absolutely love the comp on this! Great details and perfect choice for DOF to display the large snowy BG. I might try selectively lightening the shadows a tiny tiny bit....seems just a touch dark on my monitor.

Wow, great shot Graham! Great composition and a good choice to shoot at f8 to keep that mountain recognizable.

Great job of mirroring the stag pose of classic art! The light and background are wonderful and I think you processed the shadow side of the face with just the right amount of brightness to show detail and retain natural appearance.

Majestic is the word that comes to mind when I look at this image. Love the stag and his surroundings. Nice details too.

Hi Graham,
The word "classic" is very hard to avoid when describing this image! It would be hard to dream up a stronger backdrop and I very much like the angled foreground. My only very minor nit is that I would prefer if that rock immediately below the stag didn't have the large white patch on it - but obviously there's nothing you could have done about that (and the rock is exposed well ).
Cheers...thanks for sharing this...

How did you train him to pose like that? What a great shot. Wouldn't change a thing.

This has to be one of the most regal looking buck deer I've ever seen. Great details throughout, and perfect DOF. Congrats on the EP
