Winter at Hunneberg

Was up on mountain Hunneberg last weekend looking for a winter feeding place I have heard of. Grey skies and not much of interesting light. Found the feeding place and plan to go there before dawn later this winter. Hope to shot some wildlife such as moose, deer and roe deer.

Had a nice trip though, took some winter shots arround the Toltorp ruin. An old farmer place from the 16th century.

Nikon D90, 80-200 2,8 @ f/11, 80mm, 1/30s, ISO200

Hope it shows You a little of how Sweden looks like this cold winter.

Chris, I like the snow covered details.

I love the way the trees stand out. It has a very 3 dimensional feel, as if I am looking at the actual trees and not a photograph. Well done.

The texture of the trees is amazing. I agree: it looks almost 3-D.
If someone asked me what I would improve on this image, I would suggest to add a little more bottom. The base of the photo - the snow field - seems to be uncomfortably small, almost like there is no room for the trees to stand. Other than that - amazing b/w texture.

Nice details Christer, this would work as a black and white too!

This is a wonderful comp, Christer, with the strong foreground tree and the chorus of smaller trees behind. Sky colors seem a bit funky . . . jpg compression? I might be inclined to just let them go monochrome.

Great crisp detail and as others have mentioned, great 3-D feel, would love to see a B&W version!

Wonderful work Christer. The colors, processing, and overall scenery come together nicely to create a surreal, North Pole like feel. Excellent work. Michael

Beautiful image. I think it could benefit from a little more room at the bottom. The detail, and tonality are gorgeous!
