Tulip 2

Gallery: FloraPosted March 28, 201036 views9 comments
This is another photo of the tulips I photographed last week. The petals opened right up compared to the cup-like apperance I usually see. I like these peeking through shot at the inside of flowers. Does it work for you or is there too little of the pistil and stamens showing?
Manual exposure with tripod, 1/20 sec, f/5.6, ISO 100, Canon 100mm macro, side lit from window.
Thanks for looking and all C&C welcomed.

John:
This works for me. The center is sharply focused and framed by the OOF petals. I find I am tilting my head slightly when looking that the image to try to get the foreground OOF petal horizontal. Excellent comp. :toast:

Love it, for me it almost looks like candy which is a good thing, it keeps my eye looking at it, great shot

The only thing I might change here is cropping just a bit off of the top so that the width of the black at the top is about the same as that on the bottom (for symmetry). Beyond that, I don't think I would change anything.

Thanks for posting.

John: Plenty of the center for me. I think I would be inclined to crop this much tighter and would like to see most of the top negative space and all of the bottom eliminated. I do like your DOF/POF choice. >=))>

Works for me, too. The dof and the pov are very effective. NIce light and color.

John,

I'll just echo what Bill has already said and add that I think this is a neat image.
