Cottonwood Melodies

Going through some older files, which isn't that bad for me considering I only have a little over a year of files.
This image isn't so much about perfect aesthetics but rather about light, shape, and textures.
I purposely chose this composition to highlight just that. The cottonwood was being lit up by the sun. The hills still in shadow reveal their textures and of course the fall colors help as well.

Thanks for your time and comments

The yellow and blues go together quite well, the light on the tree makes for a nice contrast with the rocks in shadow. You've kept good detail in the shadow area as well. Maybe not the emotional impact of most of your work, but nicely done, nevertheless.

Oh, this is nice Anthony! Just the right amount of light and texture in the shadowed BG, and great color and light in the leaves. Beautiful comp too! Well done.

Love the backlit tree and shaded badlands and the overall comp. The bright brush in the bottom right is a tad distracting.

Your pictures might be one of the best reasons for coming to ESS. You nail the comp and light every time. This is just wonderful as always.

I like this a lot. sharp eye, vincent! fabulous light and contrasts, nicely framed this one. I would even prefer to see this without the weads on the lrc, but looking longer they don´t bother at all. very nice, as usual!!!!

I'm liking this a lot, Anthony. I would not have guessed that this was yours. I think that shows some of your diversity, or that your choices for comps and subject have changed/evolved. Either way, this is certainly very nice. The highlites coming through the leaves adds so much. Also there is enough detail in the background to satisfy the interest that it stimulates

Chris.

The backlighting really gives those leaves a nice glow, Anthony. Contrasts nicely with the barren, blue gray of the background. Nicely done. Considering the stunning images you consistently present, for someone who has only a year's worth of images Anthony, I would say you have a wonderful gift.

I've looked at this for a day now. This one takes a while. I don't like that bright little brush in the lower right corner. It interrupts a great line. A little off the left, going towards a pseudo square. (because my eye wants the camera panned right a smidge)
None the less, a decent image.

This is really nice Anthony. I like the split and textural contrasts and the colors are fantastic. The bright grasses in the lower right throw me off a little but not too bad. Really a beautiful image.
