McWay Falls is a very well photographed place. But we all want our own shots of it. This is from my recent trip there, the light wasn't as warm as I hoped, but I am happy with this capture. D300, 17-35@24mm 1/8s@f9.

Very nice, I like how the light shines on the beach. Makes me want to be there.

Nice light and good take on a classic spot. The horizon looks a little off level to me, but a fine image.

Rodney,
This is one of those iconic locations that I'd like to shoot sometime as well. You know, we've all seen pictures of it but we want our own. I like the composition and there is a good afternoon glow on the left cliff face. Would like to see a little more blur to the ocean water foam and the streaks on the beach but great capture. I'd clone out the boat in the upper middle portion of the picture and it looks like it needs a little bit of Clock wise rotation. Dave :toast:

Nicely done, Rodney. The warm-cool contrast in the colors makes this special.

Nice balance here Rodney. It looks like you caught the light just right.

Looking mighty fine. Fix the horizon and you're golden.

Thanks for the comments. I actually fixed the horizon on a different size and forgot to do it here. That's not a boat in the middle of the frame, but another rock out there.

I really like the wide angle perspective even thought the waterfall is small it adds nicely to a larger grand scene. My eye is really drawn to the water swirling around the rock in the middle of the bay and the water color there is beautiful which contrasts nicely with the nice warm tones along the shore.

I see why this is a well-photographed place - it's wonderful. I like the colors in here and would just work on the dark areas a little to bring more life to the image. There also seems a tilt in the image.

Rodney,

Light wasn't warm enough?? Looks pretty sweet to me. One of the best captures from this spot I've seen in a long while. I love the color in the water lined with the frothy whites. Great image.

Would agree with the slight tilt in the horizon - no biggie in this case really.

Thanks Lon and everyone. This is why I post, so I can get other people's opinions. When we were there, watching the sun go down and the light change, our perspectives were skewed as we saw it occur slowly. The difference between watching it happen, and coming across the warm light without seeing it happen, I guess.
