Shining Glow

An image I took this past week on a beautiful night to be along the coast. My favorite thing about location is the different variety of rock types and colors of them. It's also one of the less traveled sections of coast here in Rhode Island.

Wow Mike, you could do a whole series just on those colored stones. Gorgeous. :toast:

Reminds me of St. Ann's Bay on Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. Fantastic sky Mike but I really like the colored rocks. Hmmmmm.... maybe I should check out RI once in a while since I am in MA.

Those foreground rocks sure make for a compelling foreground. I really like the comp. My only thought is that the sky seems a bit dark and the rocks a bit lit. Balancing the light here a bit would be my suggestion.

Great scene and very well composed. The rocks and shoreline really pull me in. I used to spend some summer vacations in the Watch Hill area when I lived in Boston - avoided Cape Cod traffic. Agree with Tony that the sky is a bit dark. In addition, it has a color cast towards magenta which one might get with too much GND stops. Lightening the sky might help.

Wonderful image with tons of colour and detail. I would lighten a bit the upper part of the sky though. Congrats ;-)

I don't mind the darker clouds in the upper portion, they are very dramatic as they are and seem to balance the darker rock area at the very bottom. I like how the brighter portion is in the midground and those rocks really glow in that area. Great image!

Nice choice of comp with the shore line creating a good line for my eye to follow through the shot. The foreground rocks look great.

Beautiful image Mike. The clouds almost mimic the shapes of the rocks, I love the comp in this as well as the colors. Well done.

The colors and detail are just astounding. I agree the dark clouds could be a little lighter. That's why we have 14-bit RAWs, right? :jump:
