Oscar, a really nice subject. I don't see it perfectly sharp; some halos are visible al around the bird, at least on my monitor.

Oscar,,,,,the wing position, light cloud bg and comp are nice.

A couple of suggestions,,,,,,f16 is not really necessary for this type of subject. f4 or f5.6 will give plenty enough depth of field. This will allow you to shoot at lower ISO with less noise.

Be aware of the halo effect when adjusting shadow/highlight.

Best Regards,,,,,,,David

Really nice pose!
IMO, it could use additional sharpening, and some noise reduction on the BG.
Nice comp and colors!

Oscar,

While I do like the pose of the egret and the clouds in the background I agree with David that f16 was not neccessary here and that you would have gotten better results at f5.6 for dof. I also agree about the halo.

Thanks a lot my friends! Excellent suggestions/observations.
Going back out tomorrow to try different set-ups and post-processing.
Should be same kind of day (sunny/blue skies) to allow for close
experimentation.

Oscar

Nice composition, Oscar. I agree with the other comments. My only addition is that I suspect the noise in the bg may be aggravated by sharpening as it seems rather pronounced for that iso and shutter speed. :toast:

Nice flight shot Oscar. If F5.6 is wide open on your lens then I would suggest somewhere around F7.1 to F8 for this shot. If F4 is wide open then as David and Mia suggested F5.6 is probably a good choice. :toast:
