Fisheating Creek
by Paul Marcellini
Here's another, taken on a side-shoot of Fisheating Creek. The water was high, so it appeared the creek just dissolved into the surrounding swamp: this was one of those areas.
I'm typically quite content being around gators, mainly because I spot them first and am aware of them. Here however, they were quite shy and would dip down into the near black waters. My hand disappeared in 6 inches, and just had me a bit uneasy in waist deep or more.

A wonderful glow throughout and very inviting.
It has to be pretty cool cruising around a kayak so close the water like that.
Is this Florida?
Anthony, yeah, this is central Florida. I hope to get a blog post up tonight about it all. I do enjoy being surrounded by animals, but once in a while, the situation makes me think twice. =)

Gary.
I really enjoy your swamp scenes, this one is no exception. very moody and wild.

This is both dreamy and painterly; beautiful light scattering everywhere.... then having to think of alligators???? NOT! I'm glad I can enjoy this from a distance. Great work from FL as always.
