Inner Silence

I was trying to reach a place in winter and it was too steep , too difficult .. too much snow and wind! I felt down in the snow and got back home .. at this moment I saw this lonely tree in the cliff , quite far . I've used a 300 mm and balance the square crop with a diagonal line , a snowy foreground just behind me.

french alps . Massif des bornes (74 )

thanks a lot for your words .

Although I find the white LLC somewhat distracting, I'm captivated by the image overall. Nice to see something different and imaginative.

Really interesting focus and background selection here. I think it works well. I might be tempted to crop from the left a little.

aaa :):)
As you are one my main influence , I really appreciate :)

I discovered you 5 or 6 years before on Photosig.com and directly search for " singh ray thing" ..impossible to find it in france ! ... It really helped me to admire your sense of art. I'm still sending my "workshop student" to your page today to explain them what is a really impressive 'wide and wild ' landscape image ;)

sorry for my strange english ...quite hard

Very creative and different Alexandre. I dig this one. Less "stunning" than your seascapes, but your eye for interesting compositions shines through here as well.

I love this shot. Totally unique and expressive. I think i might have preferred the foreground in focus too, but that's a minor personal preference.

Alexandre,

Totally agree with Stan's chosen words, "unique and expressive." There is something about this that is almost nostalgic or perhaps even perhaps a period piece. Can't explain this other than to say I am envisioning something from WW1 - in France no less. The blurry background the remnants of a wintery battle, shelling, etc. The tree could very well be a cross on a hillside.... I'm wondering if you get the picture? But no matter the story or interpretation, there is a story here of this lone tree standing up to the elements... excellent eye to capture this.

My only nit would be the amount of "white" space and triangle in the LLC (you already got the acronym...) But then again, the stark contrast between the bright white and "clean" snow contrasts with the duller white tones of the background.

If anything, my mind got to wondering, so for me at least this is a successful image.

Lon,
thank you very much .
I have some problems to understand some sentence , I'm sorry .. ( WW1 ? ) .. but I appreciate your comment . the blurred part is the slope of snow , as it is close to me , it's blurred and I like this appearance , a lot of white space yes but the line is cutting the square idea just enough to let the correct free space for the tree, maybe .
for me it's something like a melancholic feeling , loneliness , coldness , abandonement.
