I got some photography time this weekend in the Whiteshell Prov. Park in eastern Manitoba. This is taken from a rocky hill above West Hawk Lake.
A circular polarizer was used.

1/8, f/16, 60mm, ISO 200

Looks like a cool location, Raymond. I like the general idea here--the diaganol comp overlooking the cliff is nice, but i think this needs something to elevate it--perhaps better light would have helped, and maybe a better backdrop for the flower (which kind of get lost in the cliff here due to the complex bg), try to isolate it agains the lake or something. Thanks for sharing!

I like the arrangement of all the elements here, as well as the detail in the rock. Sure, dramatic lighting would make this a little more interesting, but it is still a nice shot as-is.

Raymond,

A very nice and lovely image. I really like the details in the lichen covered rocks, flower and greenery of the foreground. This isn't really a nit, but just a comment/suggestion about this and similar compositions. I think these are tough, coastal scenes and viewpoints like this one where you end up with an empty corner; in this case the UR. It's not a fault, but just space that isn't really adding to the composition. Don't really have a solution, unless there is some other element like reflections, clouds, color, etc. to occupy that space. Hey, you could crop from the right some and go for a vertical pano - that could work? Anyway, just some thoughts.

Thanks everyone. Actually, I was struggling with what to do with the empty UR corner. I decided to keep it small.
