Taken at the South side of the bay, Valdez, Alaska at 01:49 PM, Jan 8, 2010. Three horizontal hand held photos stitched with AutopanoPro. Please look at the large size. 720 pixels is pretty much worthless for viewing wide panoramas.

Sony DSC-R1, ISO-160, f16, 1/200

Photos at noon during January in Alaska is almost like cheating for this challenge since the sun barely clears the horizon but technically it is midday! The whole South side of the bay is in the shadows of mountains but the opposite side gets lit up as bright as can be for a couple hours.

Beautiful pano, Gary--just perfect! I was going to scold you for shooting in the Alaskan 'magic hour', but you already beat me to it

Great job on the stitching Gary, it's a beautiful winter scene.
