Golden Light

Nikon D300, Sigma 150. F/4.5, 1/640, ISO 200.

It's all about the variations of light on the scene. From the intense gold light in the background, to the tiny glow on the disk of the Rudbeckia. Comments appreciated.

You are right it is all about the light and nicely executed. Excellent background. The one suggestion I would try is to very slightly lighten the disc flowers in the center of the flower so they have just a little bit more detail and see how that looks.

Albert, very nicely seen and composed. I like the drifts of in focus out of focus and the colour palette. The hint of red is great. Well done.

Albert:
Agree with the fabulous lighting here. The OOF petals fades and blend in with the warm orange glow. Great capture.

Beautiful light Albert and strong composition. I like Sandy's idea of adding a touch of fill light to the cone - at least on my monitor. It's a beautiful image as posted for my tastes though.

That tiny glow is the most fascinating aspect, Albert. I so wish you had posted a larger image.

I think the flower is very well integrated into the composition; I don't mind the OOF FG petals because I'm so busy look at that glow.

There's a nice sense of motion in the entire scene.

So interesting ...
