Amazing shot, Michael. Looking at the large version of this is wonderful. Great detail, very nice colors, and the water is perfect. The comp makes me feel like I'm standing right there in the water. I really like this. Beautiful work.

Agree with Nick, the large version is sweet. The light on the right wall is very nice and i like a lot the framing. Solid photo Michael, and a beautiful place, not iconic for me of course

Very nice light on the right side. You're making me very excited to head back to Zion in the fall. :-) I'm really liking how the water leads first sideways, then further back into the canyon. The lovely green tones work nicely with the warm tones of the sandstone.

I like the image, but am going to get a little technical on non-image issues. I'm guessing you have a standard sRGB monitor (not wide-gamut) and have embedded the color profile (sRGB) when you saved the image. Is this correct?

Beautiful shot, wonderful light, colors, and I really enjoy the comp. I like how the water motion almost mirros the shapes in the sandstone walls, really neat. Great work.

Beautiful. I really like the textures in the rock just left of center, but it's all very good. :toast: :toast:

The repeating rhythm in the water and the walls make for dynamic movement. I really like the lighting and color as well. Superb shot! Aren't you glad you went back?

The matching patterns are really cool and the glowing light on the right is spectacular!

I know you like the Narrows, and so far as I can recall, this is by far my favorite of any photo you've shared from the location. The balance of the large space-shapes in the scene feels perfect. Then there's the water texture, the warm glow on the right, and the more subtle glow on the left. My only critique is that after some time of viewing, the right edge might begin to feel too much brighter than the rest of the scene. Perhaps the narrowest strip of vignette effect could dispel that feeling.

I really like the curvy patterns all around the scene. The light is gorgeous also.

Thanks everyone for their comments. I really appreciate it.
Kent - thanks for noticing I like Narrows shots. I appreciate your suggestion & I will add some vignetting on the LRC b/f I print this image.
Tony - I think you are correct. I don't have a wide gamut monitor and I think the sRGB setting is embedded. What's up?

Michael,

Excellent capture from this popular spot. I like the understated color and saturation here - although I think you some room to bump this up a tad if you so choose.

I like the feeling of being in the middle of the stream here and the resulting composition is very pleasing.

My only suggestion would be to burn down the left side rock wall a little as well as the stream around the LL quadrant. A perfect example for some of TK's luminosity or burn/dodge painting.
Won't take much.

Still, an excellent capture.

The river waves really compliment the stone walls. I like the abstract nature of this one. Worth the return.

That is super cool the way both the water and the wall has "ripples." Excellent.

I appreciate how you kept it subtle in this world of loud, saturated images - the comp and mood are excellent

I love the textured walls and nice water action. I also like the way the stream curves, kinda teasing you to follow.

The most interesting part of this image (for me) is that fascinating carved wall in the URC. Still, the water and depth in this image makes for an interesting photo too.

Michael,

I really like the "visual flow" this image has. The water rapids go a great job of emulating the shape of the canyon wall. Nice light, too.
